It renders in your browser, not on our server
The preview is drawn by the same code that produces the file you download, running locally. That means no lag between typing and seeing, no request per character, and a designer that keeps working when the network does not.
Four module shapes and four corner styles
Square, dot, rounded and diamond for the modules; square, rounded, circle and leaf for the three corner squares, with the pupil styled separately. Deliberately four of each that are exactly right rather than six where two are subtly deformed at the timing rows.
A logo raises error correction automatically
Covering the middle of a code destroys data, so adding a logo silently raises error correction to the highest level to compensate. Past about a quarter of the width even that is not enough, and we refuse it rather than let you print something that fails at the till.
Questions
Can I put my logo in the middle?
Yes. Error correction is raised to the highest level automatically when a logo is added, so the code still scans — and if the logo is big enough to be a problem we refuse it rather than letting you print it.
Will you tell me if a code will not scan?
Yes, before you download it. We check contrast, the quiet zone and logo coverage. A pale code on a white background renders beautifully and no phone can read it — that is the most common way a QR code fails, and it is invisible until somebody tries.
Is the PDF a real vector?
Yes — actual curves, not a bitmap in a wrapper, so it scales to a billboard. The one exception is a code with a logo, where the PDF is exported without it and says so; use PNG or SVG for those.
